これまでも多くの支援活動に参加してくださっており、今回も変わらず温かいお気持ちを届けていただきました。

この心のこもった贈り物は、支援を必要とする子どもたちやご家庭に笑顔と季節の喜びを運んでくれます。

Little Hands, Big Hope

Nishimachi International has once again shared their kindness this festive season by thoughtfully preparing special care packages filled with traditional New Year foods such as soba and mochi.

They have been a wonderful and consistent part of our support activities, and we are truly thankful for their continued involvement and generosity. These gifts bring smiles and seasonal joy to children and families receiving support, making the holidays a little brighter.

Seeing children extend kindness with their small hands — little by little — gives us hope for a future filled with compassion. We are deeply grateful to everyone at Nishimachi International for their ongoing warmth and support.

年末年始にご家庭で楽しんでいただけるお蕎麦やお餅を詰めた「スペシャルケアパッケージ」、そして心躍るアイテムが入った「ホリデーグッディバッグ」を、ボランティアの皆さんが心を込めて丁寧に準備してくださいました。

これら80個のスペシャルケアパッケージと200袋のホリデーグッディバッグには、温かい応援メッセージも添えられ、児童養護施設や母子支援施設の皆さんへ無事届けられました。

Bringing Smiles into the New Year

Our dedicated volunteers lovingly prepared Special Care Packages filled with soba and mochi — traditional foods enjoyed during the New Year season — along with cheerful holiday goodie bags.

A total of 80 Special Care Packages and 200 holiday goodie bags, each carrying warm, handwritten messages, were delivered to children’s homes and homes supporting single-parent families.

We are truly grateful for the generous and continued support from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which helps us share smiles and the joy of the season with families throughout our community.

妊産婦さんを支援するマタニティーバッグをお届けしました

母子支援施設からリクエストのあったマタニティーバッグが完成し、早速お届けすることができました。

この施設では、新たに「妊産婦等生活援助事業」を始められ、これまでに5人のお母さんが赤ちゃんを迎えられたそうです。

今回の支援品の購入にあたり、温かいご協力をくださった 末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会 の皆さまに、心より感謝申し上げます。

施設の方からは次のようなメッセージをいただきました。

「みなさんそれぞれさまざまな事情で出産に困難を抱えています。そうした妊婦さんを受け入れ、支援しています。今回の支援品は、そのような方々にお渡しさせていただきます♪」

Maternity Bags Delivered to Support Expectant Mothers

We have completed the maternity bags requested by the home for single-parent families and were able to deliver them promptly.

This facility has recently launched a Maternal and Child Life Support Program, and so far, five mothers have welcomed their babies.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their warm support, which made these donations possible.

The staff shared the following message with us:

“Each of the mothers faces various challenges in giving birth. We provide support and acceptance for such expectant mothers. These donated items will be given to them.”

We have also attached an outline of the facility's activities (available in Japanese only) for your reference.

At cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•E, we are blessed to have many female supporters.

As women ourselves, we will continue to stand beside expectant mothers with warmth and compassion.

支え合いのあたたかさに包まれた秋の日

児童養護施設で、「ブティックプロジェクト」と「小さな秋祭り」を開催しました。

ブティックプロジェクトでは、ご寄付いただいた新品の洋服や小物の中から、お子さん一人ひとりが好きなものを選びました。「これ似合う？」「こっちのほうがいいよ！」と、お互いに声をかけ合いながら楽しそうに選ぶ姿がとても印象的でした。

秋祭りでは、スーパーボールすくいや輪投げなど、さまざまなゲームで大いに盛り上がりました。景品を目指して真剣に挑戦する子どもたちの姿に、スタッフやボランティアの皆さんも思わず笑顔に。

ランチはみんなでピザを楽しみ、デザートには macaron lab 様のご支援でアイスクリームバーを提供することができました。

当日は 末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会 の皆さまにも多くのボランティアとしてご参加いただき、ランチの後には子どもたちと一緒にサッカーをしたり、それぞれに楽しい時間を過ごしました。秋祭りと呼ぶには少し暑い日でしたが、笑顔あふれる素敵な一日となりました。

また、この日はボランティアとして参加してくれた Keitoくん が、イベント中の楽しいひとときをカメラに収めてくれました。普段は施設の職員さんもお子さんのケアで忙しく、写真を撮る時間がなかなかありませんが、今回のイベントでは、皆の笑顔や交流の瞬間を丁寧に撮影してくれました。イベント後に写真を見返すと、一枚一枚から当日の楽しい雰囲気がよみがえります。（Keito、ありがとう！）

An Autumn Day Filled with Warmth and Togetherness

We held a “Boutique Project " and “Mini Autumn Festival” at a children's home.

During the Boutique Project, each child was able to choose their favourite items from the donated new clothes and accessories.

It was delightful to hear them chatting with each other, saying things like, “Does this look good on me?” or

“I think this one's better!”—their joyful interactions were truly heartwarming.

At the Autumn Festival, the children had a great time enjoying various games such as super ball scooping and ring toss. Their focused efforts to win prizes brought smiles to both staff and volunteers.

For lunch, everyone enjoyed pizza together and thanks to the generous support of macaron lab, we were able to provide an ice cream bar for dessert. (Stephanie and Anderson, thank you so much!)

Many volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also joined us that day. After lunch, they played soccer with the children and everyone enjoyed their own fun activities.

Although it was still quite warm for an autumn festival, the day was filled with smiles and happiness.

In addition, Keito who participated as a volunteer photographer, captured the joyful moments of the event with his camera. Usually, the staff and volunteers are busy taking care of the children and don't have much time to take photos but Keito carefully photographed everyone's smiles! Looking back at the photos after the event brings the fun and warmth of the day back to life.

お母さんと赤ちゃんへの想いをつなぐマタニティバッグ

先日、母子支援施設から「これからお母さんになる妊婦さんたちがお産のときに使うマタニティバッグを用意できないか」というご相談をいただきました。

以前からcornerstoneを様々な形で応援してくださっている団体から、今回もマタニティバッグの準備に向けて力強いサポートをいただけることになりました。

cornerstoneは、人や団体の想いを結びながら、その一端を担わせていただけることに感謝しつつ歩んでいます。

Connecting Hearts: Maternity Bags for Mothers and Babies

The other day, we received a request from a mother-and-child support facility asking if we could prepare maternity bags for expectant mothers to use during childbirth.

Thanks to the generous support of an organization that has long been assisting cornerstone in various ways, we are once again able to move forward with preparing these maternity bags.

At cornerstone, we are deeply grateful to be entrusted with connecting the thoughts and efforts of individuals and groups, and we continue to walk this path with appreciation. 

母子支援施設への訪問とケアパッケージの提供について

先日、母子支援施設を訪問し、季節やご家庭の状況に応じて選定した日用品を詰めたケアパッケージをお届けしました。お米や生理用品、乳幼児向けアイテムをはじめ、猛暑対策として子どもたちには夏用の帽子をご用意。少しでも安心して日々を過ごしていただけるよう、一つひとつ心を込めてお渡ししました。

今年もご縁をいただき、朝倉匠子エイジング研究所様によるハンドマッサージのご協力を賜りました。お母さまたちは、やさしい手のぬくもりに癒されながら、穏やかな会話のひとときを楽しまれていました。ほんのひとときでも心と身体を緩めていただけたなら幸いです。その和やかな空気に自然と笑顔がこぼれる時間となりました。

また、お母さまたちがハンドマッサージやブティックプロジェクトでのお買い物を楽しんでおられる間、子どもたちはキッズテーブルで塗り絵やスティッカー遊びをしながら、ボランティアの皆さんと楽しい時間を過ごしていました。

お帰りの際にいただいた「ありがとう」「助かりました」というお言葉と、皆さまのあたたかな笑顔に、私たちも元気をいただくひとときとなりました。

今後も、目の前にいる一人ひとりに寄り添いながら、ささやかでも心のこもった支援を続けてまいります。 

Visit to the Mother-Child Support Facility and Delivery of Care Packages

We recently visited a mother-child support facility and delivered care packages thoughtfully prepared to meet the seasonal needs and unique circumstances of each family.

The packages included rice, sanitary items, baby supplies, and sun hats for the children to help them stay safe and comfortable during the summer heat. Each item was selected and handed over with care, in the hope of offering even a small sense of relief in their daily lives.

Once again this year, we were grateful to receive generous support from the Asakura Shoko Aging Research Institute, who kindly provided hand massages for the mothers. Through the warmth of gentle hands and the comfort of quiet conversation, the mothers were able to enjoy a brief but meaningful moment of calm and connection. The peaceful atmosphere naturally brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

While the mothers relaxed with massages and enjoyed browsing items from the boutique project, their children spent a joyful time at the kids’ corner. Supported by volunteers, they played with colouring activities, stickers, and toys, creating a space full of laughter and creativity.

As families left, many shared kind words such as “Thank you” and “It really helped,” along with warm, genuine smiles. In truth, we were the ones who felt uplifted, inspired by their strength and gratitude. We remain committed to offering heartfelt, thoughtful support—no matter how small—always with sincerity, and always close to the people we serve.

小さな帽子、大きなぬくもり – Small Hats, Big Warmth

昨年に続き、今年も母子支援施設にお住まいの16家族のお子さんたちへ、夏を快適に過ごすための帽子をお届けすることができました。このプロジェクトにご協力くださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。

今回は、0歳から高校生まで、合計31名分の帽子を用意することができました。今年の夏も厳しい暑さが続いていますが、帽子はそんな季節を乗り切るための大切なアイテム。新品の帽子を手にした子どもたちはとても嬉しそうで、笑顔で大事そうに持ち帰っていく姿が印象的でした。皆さまからのあたたかいご支援のおかげで、たくさんの笑顔が生まれました。

季節ごとに子どもたちに必要なものも少しずつ変わっていきますが、これからもその時々に合ったかたちで、気持ちのこもった支援を続けていけたらと思っています。今後とも、あたたかく見守っていただけたら嬉しいです。

Small Hats, Big Warmth

Following on from last year, we were once again able to provide essential summer hats to children from 16 families living in a mother-child support facility. We sincerely thank everyone who generously contributed to this project.

This year, we purchased hats for 31 children, ranging in age from newborns to high school students. With the intense summer heat continuing across Japan, hats are an important item to help protect children from the strong sun. The children were delighted to receive their brand-new hats, and it was lovely to see them smiling as they proudly took them home.

Thanks to your support, we were able to bring not only practical help, but also many smiles. As the seasons change, so do the needs of the families we support. We’re glad to continue tailoring our efforts to meet those changing needs, and we hope to keep delivering support that’s both thoughtful and timely.

思いやりの輪に加わって

Cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•Eは、神谷町にあるセント・オルバンズ教会（聖公会）の「移住者支援ミニストリー 食料・生活必需品配布活動」に参加しました。

この教会では、毎月第1日曜日に、困難な状況にある難民や庇護申請者の方々へ、食料や生活必需品を届ける活動を行っています。今月、私たちもその輪に加わり、寄付された品々を仕分けし、心を込めてケアパッケージを準備させていただきました。

この継続的な取り組みは、多くの方々の温かな思いやりによって支えられています：

• 保存食品
• 衛生用品
• 寝具や生活用品
• 清潔な衣類や靴 

Cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•Eでは、小さな行動の積み重ねが、やがて大きな礎（いしづえ）となると信じています。こうして共に歩む機会をいただけたことに、心から感謝しています。

 Joining the Circle of Compassion

cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•E joined the activities of the Migrant Ministry of the Deeper Service Group (DSG)of St. Alban’s Anglican-Episcopal Church in Kamiyacho.

On the first Sunday of each month, the church prepares and shares food and daily necessities for refugees, asylum seekers, and others navigating difficult times.

This month, we had the privilege of quietly working alongside others—sorting donations and preparing care packages filled with dignity, kindness, and hope.

This ongoing initiative is made possible by the steady compassion of many who donate: 

• Non-perishable food
• Hygiene essentials
• Bedding & household goods
• Clean clothing & shoes 

At cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•E, we believe that even the smallest acts of service can become the foundation for something greater. We are humbled to take part and to walk alongside those we serve.

Refugee Support Project

Refugee Support Projectの一環として、牛久市にある東日本入国管理センターおよび品川の東京出入国在留管理局を訪問し、支援物資をお届けしました。また、それぞれの施設で生活されている入所者の中から、男性1名・女性1名の方と面会し、現在の暮らしの様子や日々感じておられることなどをお伺いしました。

入所されている方々は、それぞれ異なる背景や事情を抱えており、その状況を丁寧に理解するには、相応の時間と継続的な対話が必要であることを強く感じました。また、団体としてできる支援と、今は難しいこととの線引きも改めて認識する機会となりました。

今回は、牛久市の施設に対して、タオル、ソックス、体を洗うタオル、ローションといった生活用品に加え、カップラーメン、インスタントカレー、コーンスープ、そしてドライドオニオンやスパイス類を詰め合わせたパッケージをお届けしました。牛久には24人分の支援物資を用意しました。

ドライドオニオンやスパイスを加えた理由は、入所されている方々が主に外国籍であり、提供される日本食が口に合わないことも多いため、少しでも味を調整し、食事を楽しめるようにとの配慮からです。

一方、品川の施設では食品の寄付が受け付けられていないため、今回は生活用品を中心とした支援物資をお届けしました。こちらは7人分の支援を行いました。

限られたリソースの中ではありますが、これからも現場のリアルな状況をしっかり見つめ、正確な情報をもとにニーズに即した支援を続けていきたいと思います。

As part of our Refugee Support Project, we visited the East Japan Immigration Center in Ushiku and the Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau in Shinagawa to deliver much-needed relief supplies. During our visit, we also had the opportunity to speak with one male and one female detainee at each facility, hearing firsthand about their daily lives and personal experiences.

The people living in these centers come from a wide range of backgrounds and face very different circumstances. We were reminded that truly understanding their situations takes time and ongoing conversations. It was also a chance to reflect on what our organization can realistically offer—and where our limits lie.

In Ushiku, we prepared care packages for 24 individuals, including essentials like towels, socks, body wash towels, and lotion, as well as food items such as instant noodles, curry, corn soup, dried onions, and spices. These additions were meant to help detainees—many of whom are from overseas—adjust the flavor of meals and make their food more enjoyable.

In Shinagawa, where food donations are not accepted, we delivered packages for 7 individuals, focusing on daily necessities.

Resources may be limited, but we remain committed to listening carefully, staying informed, and offering support that truly meets the needs of those we serve. 

現場から届く声――「やさしさが届いています」

児童養護施設を巣立った若者たちが、就職や進学に向けて頑張っている様子や、初めてのアイススケートやBBQといった日常の小さなチャレンジが、丁寧に綴られています。

スタッフの方の言葉からも、卒寮生とのつながりを大切にし、日々真剣に向き合っている様子が伝わってきました。

支援に関わる団体のひとつとして、Cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•Eの名前も記載されていました。支援が、確かに届いています。これからも、やさしさをかたちにして、必要とする方々のもとへ静かに寄り添っていきたいと思います。

Living Proof That Kindness Matters – Voices from the Frontline

If you can read Japanese, this month’s newsletter from まつぼっくり(Matsubokkuri) might be of interest. As one of the organisations we regularly support, their update is a touching reminder of why we do what we do.

It features stories of young people navigating life after care, trying new things like ice skating and barbecues, and finding their feet in the adult world—with the support of dedicated staff and the community.

There's also a warm note of thanks to Cornerstone I•SHI•ZU•E among the list of donors. It's clear our support continues to make a difference. Let's keep turning kindness into action.

RBCブルーベイ・アセットマネジメントの皆様が、児童養護施設を巣立った若者たちのために、温かさと心遣いが感じられる食料のケアパッケージを届けてくださいました。

物価高騰が続く中で一人暮らしを始めた卒園生の中には、不安を抱える方も少なくありません。そんな彼らに届けられた食品と、皆様が一人ひとりに丁寧に書いてくださった手書きのメッセージは、大きな励ましとなり、安心感を与えてくれたことと思います。温かいご支援に、心より感謝申し上げます。

Together in Support — Thank You, RBC BlueBay

The team at RBC BlueBay Asset Management generously prepared care packages filled with food for young adults who have transitioned from children's homes.

As the cost of living continues to rise, many of these young people—now living independently—are navigating this new chapter with uncertainty. The food items, along with the thoughtful handwritten messages from the RBC BlueBay team, no doubt provided comfort and encouragement during a time of change.

We sincerely thank the RBC BlueBay team for their generous and considerate support.

児童養護施設卒園生のためのケアパッケージプロジェクト

末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会のボランティアの皆さんと協力し、児童養護施設を卒園し、自立した生活を始める若者たちにケアパッケージをお届けしました。

卒園後は一人で生活を始めることになり、不安や困難も少なくありません。そこで、少しでも安心して新生活をスタートできるように、キッチン用品、食料品、電化製品など、生活に必要な品を心を込めて詰め合わせました。

新たな一歩を踏み出す彼らの暮らしが、少しでも豊かで温かいものになりますように――そんな願いを込めて。

Care Package Project for Graduates of Children's Homes

Together with volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we delivered care packages to young adults graduating from children's homes and beginning life on their own. 

Stepping into independence can be both exciting and overwhelming. Many face the challenges of living alone for the first time, often without the safety net others may have.

To offer a sense of support and stability, each package was carefully prepared with everyday essentials—kitchen items, food, and small appliances.

With heartfelt wishes, we hope these gifts provide warmth, comfort, and encouragement as they take their first steps into a new chapter.

Event Report: National Azabu Neighbors - Spring Markets

2月26日/27日に開催されたNational Azabu Neighbors, Spring Markets は、たくさんの素敵な方々が集まり、温かい雰囲気の中でとても素晴らしい時間となりました。

皆さまの優しいお気持ちとご協力のおかげで、ケアパッケージに入れる食品や日用品がたくさん集まりました。いただいたご寄付は、必要としている方々へ大切に届けられます。

ご協力くださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました！ 寄付をしてくださった方、ご来場くださった方、そしてこのイベントを支えてくださったすべての方々の温かさに、心から感謝しています。

また、最後になりますが　Cornerstoneは、この素晴らしいイベントに参加させていただいたことに心から感謝しています。  毎回温かく迎えてくださり、仲間に入れていただけることにとても感謝しています。皆さまと一緒に過ごす時間は、いつも特別で、大切な思い出になります。本当にありがとうございました！

Event Report: National Azabu Neighbors - Spring Markets

The National Azabu Neighbors Spring Markets, held on February 26th and 27th, was another wonderful event filled with warmth and community spirit. It was a joy to see so many friendly faces come together to share in this special occasion.

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we collected a great number of food items and daily necessities for care packages, which will be delivered to those in need. Every contribution truly makes a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, visited, and helped make this event a success. Your support and kindness mean so much to us. 

Last but certainly not least, we at Cornerstone are deeply grateful to be part of this incredible event. It means a lot to be welcomed into this community time and time again, and we truly appreciate the warm friendships and connections we've made. Being able to share these moments with you is something we treasure. Thank you once again!
